The Airplane Boys Homecoming Concert 2012

Fresh off destroying the Gobi Tent stage at Coachella, The Airplane Boys (Beck Motley & Bon Voyage) came back home to do a free show for their fans in Toronto. They’ve always had a thing for their hometown crowd as this is the 2nd time they’ve done a free headlining show for the city, albeit the first one was 19+. With being an all-ages event there was a much different vibe going on, a lot of younger teenagers and kids were in the audience, which was a little bit of a surprise for me.

After The CALL OUT (a dance set showing off some of the different styles of urban dance such as b-boying/b-girling, popping and locking), The Airplane Boys hit the stage. While The CALL OUT had everyone dedicated to the rows of benches, as soon as the Airplane Boys hit the stage their was a rush down all the aisles as everyone wanted to get as close as possible.

After the first couple of tracks, Beck Motley hopped the barrier and went straight towards the middle of the crowd, the first of a few times throughout the hour that one of them came into the crowd. While the set list mainly contained hits off Alignment like Riding With My Crew, Still Young and Beau Monde, there was still the occasional track off Where’ve You Been.

Hit the jump for pictures and a clip from the show, to get your fix until they come to your city.
